Iphone ATT contract set to expire in June 2010

The iphone exclusivity contract arranged with mobile carrier powerhouse ATT is set to expire at the end of June 2010.

Currently, ATT subsidizes $450 for every new iphone purchased. This is what allows us to buy them for around $200. At the end of june that contract will be up leading to a few options.

1. Open the iphone to competitor services such as verizon, sprint and T-mobile

2. Renew the exclusivity with ATT

3. Renew the exclusivity with ATT and ask for more subsidies to help lower the price of the iphone.

What do you think will happen?

Iphone tethering, aka making love with your computer

According to a few different sources, Steve Jobs may have responded to complaints that, since the pulling of NetShare from the App Store, iPhone-to-laptop tethering is impossible without jailbraking one's phone. Of course there will be a fee associate with using ATT network to run your computer... but it will probably beat buying a separate network card

ESPN sportscenter app

I believe that everyone is familiar with ESPN and their fantastic coverage of world wide sports. So I figured the app for iphone must be one of the best sports score apps out there.

Little did I know that there were a few bugs that made it unusable. When I first downloaded it it worked great. I could constantly check on my teams anytime, anywhere. But after a few days it began to stop working. now when I click on the app it doesn't fully load and returns to the home screen. I would recommend the app but only if it works!

Simcity for the iphone

I purchased this game on my iphone 3g-s about 3 months ago. Unfortunately it would not load on my phone for about 2 months.

with a new update it is now up and running. I have to admit it is extremely similar to simcity 2 just a bit more basic. It runs great and is easy to use and play. the only issue is that it eats up the battery life extremely quickly but what can you do.

If you are already a simcity fan I highly recommend this game, especially for the measily $5 it currently costs.
